About Kidsafe ACT
Since its beginning in 1979 the main goal of Kidsafe has been to reduce the number and severity of unintentional injuries to children. In these past 35 years deaths through unintentional injury have reduced from over 700 per year to about 250 per year. Even so, injury remains the greatest cause of child death in Australia between the ages of 1 and 14 years.
It's a scary thought that so many of our children are being injured when nearly every accident is preventable. That's why Kidsafe was formed. Over the last decade, Kidsafe has made great progress in the ACT, but there is still a need for ongoing research and injury prevention programs. At stake is the health and well-being of Australia's most valuable asset - it's children.

We are open from 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday and from 9am - 12pm the first and third Saturday of every month.

- Injury levels are falling in the ACT. The current ACT Road Safety Strategy confirms that serious road-related child injuries are no longer a statistical priority - our strategy is working!

- Choosing a child restraint, fitting and using it correctly
- Car and road safety including teaching children to be safe pedestrians
- Home safety, baby-proofing and choosing nursery furniture
- Brochures, fact sheets and other material on all of the above
- Information from other organisations such as Sids & Kids, NAPCAN, Cancer Council, Royal Lifesaving Society, Playgroups ACT, PANDSI, Parentlink and many more.

- GUNGAHLIN Canberra Raiders Sports Club, Gungahlin on Fridays 10am - 2pm
